“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”  James 1:2-4 The Message.

God’s word will be tried in us.  “Unfortunately, Point B is a place of trial and testing.  It is a place where all seems lost and you might get lonely, for you won’t have many supporters through Point B.  Point B can be a long, dusty trail up the side of a great mountain, a mountain where endurance and strength will be necessary ingredients for making it to Point C.”  (Quoted portion from Constitution of Iron)

PoinsettiaOver the years I’ve seen many new Christians hear the word of hope, get a word from the Lord, and get all excited about it.  I’ve seen too that when they are not properly grounded, they will expect on the surface for that “thing” to happen right away and without difficulty.  Then, when it doesn’t happen as they expected or had figured out, they throw it all out….the word, the hope, and sometimes the church.  They head for the back door!  Many of these Christians take on offense.  They blame the church, the person who taught the Word, or the person who gave them a special word.

The same thing happens with our dreams.  When we first receive the dream, we can’t wait to get started.  When the difficulties come, the excitement heads for the back door.  Constitution of Iron reads, “We tend to go through our Point B by focusing on what we see.  That’s one reason why some dreams die on the vine.  Looking deeper into the growth and development of some plants shows us that in many cases what is going on underground is much more productive and important than what takes place above ground.”

Still quoting from Constitution of Iron, “What happens above ground is Joseph being sold to the Midianites and the Midianites in turn selling Joseph on the auction block to Potiphar.  Underground where you can’t see it, God was turning things around whereby Joseph was being sent by God to be in place to save multitudes of starving people and, at the same time, making his dream come true.”

We can’t see what God is doing much of the time.  It’s prudent to know that the word, dream or vision will be tried in us and if we use our faith and trust Him to bring about the final chapter….the victory chapter….the place where our dream comes true, we will get to our Point C just like Joseph.
