sixAmerica! America! God shed His grace on thee. America.

More and more you hear or read from pastors who feel that it is too late for our country or that it is too late “to take back America.” If that is where their faith lies, then so be it. They probably no longer pray for America.

If I were to buy into the idea that it is too late for our country to return to its Judeo/Christian heritage or roots, I would quit praying for this nation and I would use my faith in other areas.  But, I can’t do that. In order to lose faith and believe we’ve reached the point of no return, I’d have to throw out a bunch of scriptures and quit believing them.

I’d have to throw out 2 Chron. 7:14, If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I’d have to throw out Ps. 33:12, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen for His own inheritance.

I’d have to throw out Prov. 21:1, The kings heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.

I’d have to throw out Dan. 2:21, He controls the course of world events; He removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.

I will continue to pray that this great nation receive the Lord Jesus Christ as its savior.  In “nation,” I am speaking of masses of people turning their hearts toward our loving Savior and turning from sin.

I believe in God’s Word and I pray for America, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
